Peek a Boo Trio

I recently bought this die from Michelle at the Cardgrotto, it arrived really quickly and I couldn't wait to get started. The Stampin Up images are on the small side so these suited the size of the circles rather well, I think I might even make a few more.

I am also using the "fine liner" bottle for my glossy accents and so far it seems ok, will let you know once Ive been using it for a while if I still think it doesn't clog.

Bentley Bear

I love these bears, Ive only ever seen them as free gifts with magazines and normally they are pretty small but these ones were a more ordinary size. Ive run out of my normal bear colours and I'm impatiently waiting for my refills to arrive so I had to use a different bear combo and I'm surprised how nice this works. I put a complete cover of E30 all over the bear then dot the colours from dark to light, once the dots are done I lightly colour wash with the E30 again.

Butterfly Silhouette

I never used to buy many stamping/papercraft magazines but since I discovered I could buy many issues for such good value I seem to be addicted. I am however sticking to my use before you put away scheme so this is another card made when the stamps first arrived, actually I emailed my friend who also gets this magazine and told her I had made a card and hers hadn't arrived yet. Now before you think well they could have arrived days apart I got mine at 11am, hers arrived at 1pm.

The size of the stamps suggested square card to me so I went with my old favourite card size and style, it does feel like ages since I made a square card.

I love the silhouette stamping look that I see around blogland but Ive never really attempted it before. I do need more practice but I'm happy with the outcome on this card.

I stamped all the images with versa fine and allowed it a bit of time to dry before I inked with my distress inks, I used, peeled paint, faded jeans, tumbled glass and broken china. I did manage to get a tiny mark on the background and I used a pergamano butterfly stamp to cover it up, i had to colour the stamp in as it was an outline one but I don't think you would have noticed if I hadn't pointed it out. I did mask the butterfly before inking and had originally intended colouring with my copics but decided to use my distress inks instead, I simply picked up the colour with my "fantastix" and coloured direct, this was even easier than I thought it would be.

Latte Sue

Almost all the ingredients for this card were already on my desk, I had made the magnum card and before I put away any of the card or paper I decided to make this one. I loved the sketch and colour scheme so I haven't deviated from it. I did fussy cut the image as she was surrounded by leaves which didn't seem fitting for a march birthday card. I even added a flower just like in the sketch. I do find the blueprints from MFT make light work of making a card but I do tend to stick to the same ones so it was good to break out one I haven't used much.

Beauty

I made this card at the same time as the "slippers" card but as I didn't want the recipient's Mum to see it I haven't blogged it until after their birthday. Im pleased with the hair on this one now I just wish I could remember how I did it lol.

Birthday Barkley

I placed rather a large order with everycraftsapound and this set was one I popped in my basket at the last minute, I liked the images but I'm not a fan of acrylic stamps as they do tend to spread when stamping unlike photopolymer but I thought for a pound it was worth it even if I only used them once. They actually stamped very easily and I didn't struggle to get a good impression.

I've been trying to use my new stuff before I put it away, it helps to give me a visual reference and also if I've coloured something I think I'm more likely to remember I have it. I'm not sure this will work going forward but I'm going to at least try.

I coloured barkley in his signature colours and he was just sitting on my desk when I got the idea to use the peek a boo dies, once the idea popped into my head the card was made really quickly. It looked a little plain before I added the enamel dots and although the they aren't really random I think they work. I do have the beads to be able to make my own but I've not tried it yet.

Slippers

Not the comfy kind but the Cinderella kind, I adore these images from The Greeting Farm, I had hoped that they would release more princesses but they haven't so far, still I have a few to be going on with. I've already used "fairest" (snow white) and "Tress" (rapunzel), in fact I used the same layout as I did on the Tress card. I have lots of cards to make and unfortunately no mojo, well not strictly true as my mojo is there but it only wants to colour lol.

Enjoy the Journey

One of the play day ladies has recently decided to retire early and spend a lot of time with her husband travelling, I wanted to wish her a fabulous time and to let her know she would be missed. And of course I want to see lots of pictures and hear all about it when she returns.

I only just picked up this stamp set although it has been on my wish list since the new catalogue was released. I had been given the peek a boo die on a recent trip to florida and thought it worked perfectly with these images, I tried stamping them in brown but they look so much more vibrant in the blue. the papers of course have been sat in the paper box since I bought them at least two years ago lol,

Cowboy Up !!

Like many of my family my uncle is a big fan of westerns and I knew I would get to use this image on one of his cards, he is also a fan of bad horror movies but as I'm not I can't see me making any of those lol.

Its a very basic card but I ran out of mojo halfway through, I think thats why I like guy cards cos they don't expect anything other than a basic card.

Paper: "giddy up boy" Carta Bella at Jessica Sprague and "Dilly Dally " MME
