Kanban Diva

After seeing this card I knew I had to have this stamp set, unfortunately though the company stopped trading last year so ebay to the rescue and a bargain price to boot. I changed my 6 x 6 paper pad storage and found these papers at the bottom of the old box, they are from my much loved and used "blush" paper pad, they only pad I have ever used almost all of, that is a shocking thing to admit to lol.

Im entering Di's Snippet playground, I haven't played along in a while and I think I need a gentle push on the swings lol.

My oh my, this year is whizzing past at an alarming rate, another little family member is turning one and of course I made my go to card. Happy Hoppy Birthday

Normally when I order a few stamps it takes me ages to use them but this stamp and the "lean on me" were from the same order and coloured almost immediately. I knew who this was going to be for before it even arrived so making the card, even though its early seemed the right decision. Maybe the problem is that i don't make the card I have planned straight away then when I need it inspiration has all but disappeared. I do seem to be making simple layouts recently and the blueprints from mft make this a doodle, I'm not sure how I managed without them to be honest lol.

Art Impressions (AI) Clear Stamp Sets

I saw this set in Michaels on a recent Florida trip and had no idea that they were brand new and sought after or I would have bought more, the set contains a few sentiments, two people, a dog and a caravan. At $9.99 it was an absolute bargain and I'm hoping on my next trip they have some left.

I've made this card way in advance but hopefully the person its for doesn't check my blog, I thought of this person as soon as I saw the set and I'm hoping his sense of humour is still intact lol.

Ive also been using the Joann super smooth card stock for my copic colouring recently and have to say after trying loads of different ones over the years this is quickly becoming my favourite. It is heavy weight at 110lb but blends smoothly without as much effort as the Papertrey ink card and keeps the colours bright which the Rymans tends to dull. I tried it with my prisma pencils and it blended beautifully. On my next trip I think I might need to fill my suitcase with it.

Look No Colouring

I had the idea for this card in my head for a while, I wanted to try a bit of inking and distressing but now its finished I'm glad I made it, don't worry if you think the image is blurry I inked the stencil with fine linen then moved it slightly and inked with gathered twigs and it causes the background to be hazy, not sure if it works but it is different.

Whilst on a recent Florida visit I noticed that in the slightly local scrapbook store (Violettes) the samples had the main image and a smaller image in the corner, I liked this look so tried to recreate it here. Next time though I think I need a smaller second image.

Ingredients
Image: "inspired by the front porch - Fall" MFT
Paper: "lattice" stencil from Heidi Swapp
Card:"early expresso" Stampin up
Inks: "fine linen" papertrey ink, "gathered twigs" distress ink and "rich cocoa" memento

May Card Kit

I had to buy the Simon Says Stamp card kit as soon as I saw the card Nichole Magourik made with the stamp and papers, I've not quite reproduced it but I have used the elements I liked the most. I do wish I had stencilled the background now but there is always next time.

Ingredients

Paper: "be different" Fancy Pants
Card: "blueberry sour", "wax lips" both Bazzill and white from anna marie
Dies: Blueprints 15 and "curved edge" Simon Says Stamp

Copics:
N1, 2, 3, 4, R59, 46, 27, 24,

I attended the MFT retreat in Eustis Florida at the end of May and the very talented Jodi gave a class where we made a few of her style cards, Jodi loves to decorate the insides of her cards as well as the outside, I have always made paper insets before but I am enjoying making a few special ones following her principles. So I thought I would show you the inside of this card.

Ingredients
Image: "all boy" Simon says stamp
Card: Anna Marie
Dies: Blueprints 15
Sentiment: "wet paint" papertrey ink
Ink: "pure poppy" papertrey ink and "nightshift blue" mft stamps

Rocky Balboa?

Whenever I see boxing gloves I think of the "rocky" films, my godson has decided that boxing is good exercise and he has been sparing for a while now so as soon as LaPashe released this design I had to have it, I bought the download version and was able to reduce the size a bit as I love the A2 size card and the mft blueprints are perfect for a no measuring card. Ive never been very good at measuring or cutting straight so the blueprints make card making a breeze for me and the fact you can mix and match is perfect.

I stamped the red card with the pinstripe background using mft black dye ink, this ink is fab on clear stamps but it is messy and I needed a good scrub after I finished, I also stamped the black piece but it isn't as easy to see.

Ingredients
Image: "boxing gloves" LaPashe
Sentiment: "keep it simple - happy birthday" Papertrey Ink
Card: White and black snippet draw and "real red" stamping up
Background stamp: "pinstripe" MFT
Dies: Blueprints 1, 13, 12 and vertical stripes all mft
