Hoodie Card

I finally used the zipper die from mft, when I first saw this I had so many ideas but as normal once you get it home they all disappear. I needed a teenage girl card and after using my distress inks and stencils over the last few days I decided to try the animal type stencil from mft. It was fabulous to ink and I think I need to invest in a few more of them.

Ingredients
Card: "hibiscus burst" papertrey ink, "grout gray" "steel grey" "black licorice" all MFT
Dies: blueprints 13 and 2, zipper die all MFT
Stencil: "animal print" MFT

Storm in a Teacup

You may remember I was trying to use up my stash in January and I made a card with a teacup sticker, well I have been asked by several family members if they can have cards with cups on as they all liked it so much. As per usual the stickers have disappeared off sale so I needed to find a teacup stamp and I found a set by Lucy Cromwell for Papermania, this is an older set so it was also difficult to source but I eventually found a site with it. Its a good job that I didn't make using it up my new years resolution lol.

I saw this card by Wendy and loved the way she had coloured the cups leaving white bits so I used her card as my inspiration. Her colouring is amazing so I would suggest grabbing a cuppa and having a good look through her blog.

Ingredients

Papers: "time for tea" nit wit collections
Card: "Aqua mist" papertrey ink
Dies: oval stax, pierced oval stax, flag stax and blueprints 5 all mft

Cute Camera

Ok so another different card for me but I am enjoying experimenting with different techniques. On this card I have used embossing paste to create the background and I love the look it gives. I tried something different with the word dies and put tape on the back of the card I was cutting and then cut four layers and stuck them together. It was quicker than using dots of glue but messier to remove the die cut from the die. I love the layered effect of the word dies and so much easier than cutting foam squares.

I was originally going to stamp an image and pop it in the polaroid window but I remembered that when I used to take pictures with my instant back in the day I loved watching it change from black to grey to colour, so I inked the middle with pumice stone distress ink and some memento black for the edges.

I used tiny bits of snippets for the camera accessories and even the camera and word dies were cut from the leftovers of the zipper card so I am entering Di's snippet playground for a go on the roundabout.

Ingredients

A Playday Project

I don't normally post my play day projects mostly because I spend so much time chatting that I never finish them but this one was different as although it was supposed to be the April project I didn't start it until I got home. I used mount board and gummed tape which gives it a lot of strength, I still have to add the feet but as I don't have any to add at the moment that can wait. It has had two coats of acrylic paint and I used a square stax to make sure all the papers were the same size. I think I might even make another one lol.

Ingredients
Paper: "paris girl" Carte Bella at Jessica Sprague

Something Fishy

Another birthday card needed in a hurry, as I already had the LaPashe Cd open I had a look for a fishing image and this caught my eye, It was so quick and easy to put together and really took the stress out of a last minute card. The longest bit was waiting for the glossy accents on the fish to dry.

Sentiment: "happy" exclusive Simon Says Stamp stamped in "black liquorice" MFT and "New Leaf" papertrey ink

Scrum Anyone?

Being a Welsh family brings with it a love of all things Rugby, well for the guys in my family anyway. I was going to use this image last year for this persons birthday card but I ran out of time to colour it, I had of course forgotten all about the decoupage section on the CD. So this year I decided to make it in plenty of time and use the already coloured version as the image was quite complicated.

The paper was in my snippet folder and already cut to size and shape so it seemed like it was meant to be, I have no idea where the paper came from though. The red card is also a snippet so I think I am off for a play on the swings.

Ingredients
Image: "In the scrum" Value Decoupage from Best of La Pashe CD
Card: "real red" stamping up
Paper: No idea but it has loads of rugby sayings and was in the snippet folder.
Sentiment: "happy" Simon says stamp exclusive set
